An additional contentious/ non-contentious Construction Solicitor to join for a long-term permanent contract or employee role.
Conexus Law is an exciting new law firm built of very experienced and highly motivated lawyers.
Being part of our small but rapidly growing team will provide an excellent opportunity to develop your Construction Solicitor career.
Conexus Law is an exciting law firm working globally in high growth sectors where real estate, technology and people converge. Our offices are based in the heart of the City of London, and so candidates based in London and South East UK are preferred so that they can work out of our office at least some days.
However, we recognise that people have responsibilities and interests outside of their career and that, as a business, we all benefit from working flexibly. With this in mind, location and working hours can be flexible for the right candidate.
Proven business development skills will be an advantage, and a passion to “get stuck in” to help us grow our business is critical. A book of portable business would, of course, be welcomed but is not essential.
We generously reward successful business development activity.
You will have at least 6 years PQE (with no upper limit on PQE) and will be an experienced non-contentious construction solicitor. You will also have experience of contentious construction work including adjudication and mediation.
The remuneration on offer is competitive and dependent on experience – we have plenty of work for you to get stuck in to.
Your New Firm
We work globally in sectors where real estate, technology and people converge to deliver a range of services that support the technology driven world that we now inhabit. We also look to the future, helping our clients to prepare for new technologies and new ways of working.
We have a focussed service offering and a modern, agile approach to service delivery. We operate across the globe, working with trusted local law firm partners and a diverse range of other professional services firms where this benefits our clients.
To give you a flavour of the work you might expect as our new Construction Solicitor, our lawyers are currently working on construction projects for data centre providers in the UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, India, Japan and the US, with each project being worth between £30m and £400m. We are working with construction contracts based on the JCT and FIDIC suite, as well as working with local co-counsel on projects being let on domestic forms of contract. We are also working on a number of projects to assist with challenging issues arising from the Covid-19 situation.
In the past, our lawyers have worked on projects for:
Major public sector regeneration projects, such as being a key construction solicitor for the London 2012 Olympic Park site acting for the Olympic Delivery Authority;
Some of the big five internet mega-companies on infrastructure projects across the world;
Other significant property development and “Smart City”/”Smart Building” projects;
One of the world’s leading technology companies working on autonomous cars;
A high-profile data management company in relation to a global data breach containing hundreds of million records of personal data; and
A £9bn project to upgrade rail infrastructure and rolling stock.
We are highly commercial lawyers, and put a great deal of time and effort into understanding the underlying business operations of our clients and the risks of the sectors in which they operate. This genuinely enables us to apply our advice to our clients’ circumstances. We work to be recognised as the “go to” law firm in the sectors we choose to operate in.
